Eating Through the Columbia River Gorge: River Rock

You won’t go hungry when you visit Carson Hot Springs.

Whether you’re taking your coffee up to your room, eating your way through our chef-designed menu at the on-site Elk Ridge Bar & Grill, or enjoying a picnic in the woods — you’ll be comfortable. But maybe you do need a little night out. So we’re featuring more restaurants around the Columbia Gorge. This round? We hit River Rock, located in Stevenson, WA, at 1131 SW Skamania Lodge Way.

First things first: they’ve got local beers like Backwoods on tap, as well as plenty of Pacific Northwest wines. Feeling like a cocktail? Try one of their Gin Coolers before the summer’s out.

Yes, they also have a full bar.

They’re plating up gorgeous new American fare, and there’s no dearth of options for you here.

River Rock serves burgers and they serve pizzas. There are tacos topped with pickled peppers and onions. Eating all the at-home favorites never looked so good. They know how to make buffalo chili and macaroni and cheese look seriously gourmet, so you can feel like you’re having a very adult dinner out while sneaking in more of that necessary getaway indulgence. (Post-massage and mineral soak, naturally.)

Simply put: their food will stick to your ribs without sacrificing style, and they’ve got an incredible patio to catch the sunset on.

We know where we’re headed this weekend. Are you coming?
